Decisions... Decisions... And A Lot More Decisions

Senin, 22 Maret 2010

Back to another day of updates people... So how's everybody going? Well, I hope, and this goes out to those who are facing the National Examinations this week. May the luck be with you guys always.

So the topic for this week is decisions and why is it so hard to make up our mind. Ever been to an ice cream store, like Baskin Robbins or Haagen Dazs, you look at the display case and see, literally, tens of flavours available there. Dark chocolate, Belgian chocolate, chocolate chips, milk chocolate, and other chocolates (I dunno why, but it seems that chocolate has the most variation among other flavors.. hmm...) then you can't choose any because they all look so delicious! If it was up to me, I would buy three scoops of different flavours, but put it all in one cone, because I'm greedy :D

Another scenario then... You go to Starbucks, then the barista comes over and say : "Yes, what can I do for you today?" You smile and look up, ah, there's the menu and the special offer for the day. After 5 long minutes, you still stand there like an idiot looking upwards, trying to guess what drink you want while the people queuing behind you are starting to make some faces and the barista's already itching to hit the 'Black Coffee' button on the cash register.

Why is it so hard to make a choice? Well... The first thing is because there's always the ups and downs between two things. I remember asking my friend, who was from Australia and had a girlfriend there, this question : "Hey Kay... Is it better to be single or to be in a relationship?" He said : "There's ups and downs for both things, man..."

Second, it is part of the human nature (Yes, you and me and all the people in this world too) to want the best things in life. If you were to choose from these two things : (1)Living a good life with your great family and has a steady income and successful career OR (2)Live a shitty life begging on the cold streets all day. Man, you would be damn crazy if you choose number (2)...

If you ask me now about your problem which deals with choosing, I'd say : Choose whichever you think is good for you. It's like choosing a major for university. If your father's a doctor, doesn't necessarily mean that you have to take medical in university too! You can choose whichever you want, whichever you're most comfortable with. Don't let other people's opinions affect your decisions. If you made the wrong decision, that's fine, everybody makes mistakes. Even your parents ever made a mistake in their life, I bet. But mind you, whatever action you choose, whatever paths you take in this life, you have to be responsible for it. You can't blame anybody else for the things that you've done wrong. It's your decision, after all, not theirs.

Anyways, I think I've blabbered quite enough here. My advice to you people : Live the moment, enjoy the moment :D
Arrivederci, people

Side note : 50 days till judgement day (exams)... Nice... Clock is ticking real fast... 24 hour's not enough, really
